Moharramaat Session # 2
Mumineen of Tomball had organized a great event in the banquet hall of Lazeeza restaurant, on FM 1960 this past Friday, April 12th 2013. Over 100 Mumineen men, women, and children attended this 2nd session on Moharramaat.
The entire session lasted around an hour and 30 minutes. Aali Qadar Moula (TUS)'s Bayaan Mubarak from Milad Mubarak Waaz was relayed emphasizing Moulana (TUS)' and Mufaddal Moula (TUS)' HUQUM to cleanse ourselves of all Moharramaat.
As within the first session, Janaab Amil Saheb addressed all attendees regarding the ahammiyat of following Moulana (TUS)' Farmaan e Aali, and cleansing ourselves of all Moharramaat. Amil Saheb asked all the medical professionals present to form a support group for Mumineen who may need help achieving this goal and Moulana (TUS)' khushi.
Dr. Sh. AliAkber bhai Bhuriwala conducted an interactive question / answer session with the entire group, focusing mainly on the children who were seated upfront. Many questions were asked and discussed, bringing many vague aspects of Moharramaat to light.
Dr. Sh. Mustafa bhai Mandviwala spoke to the group as well highlighting the role of a Tabeeb (doctor), and following our Tabeeb e Ruhani, Moulana (TUS)' prescription plan to lead a healthy and prosperous life.
After a short break for Namaaz, Hamza bhai Dr. Sh. Saifuddin bhai Tahir and Hatim bhai Younus bhai Hakimuddin spoke very eloquently, addressing the youth on how to cope with peer pressure and other scenarios that may arise in high school and college. Both of the young men spoke so well that Amil Saheb decided to invite them to other sessions as well and share their thoughts and experiences with other families in Houston.
To thank the attendees for their time and enthusiasm, Amil Saheb gave out a few gift cards to the adults, and $152 scholarship to Mehlam bhai Dr. Sh. Aliakber bhai Bhuriwala and Tasneem bhen M. Zohair bhai Harianawala.
A buffet dinner was organized after all the speakers had taken their seats. Dr. Sh. Saifuddin bhai Tahir, Dr. Sh. AliAkber bhai Bhuriwala, and Dr. Rashida bhen Abbas went to each table speaking with adults on identifying troublesome behavior in their children and intersect before their habits digress from our Mumin-centric culture.
We thank all the bhaiyyo and behno who worked hard to organize this very successful event, and continuously do Shukr that Khuda Ta'ala has blessed us with Moulana (TUS) and aapna Mansoose Agar, Aali Qadar Mufaddal Saifuddin Aqa (TUS) to make sure we lead a prosperous life. Alhamdolillah. Click here to view pictures.
Moharramaat Session Zone 1
Under the leadership and guidance of Amil Saheb, Shabab ul Eidiz Zahabi had organized the first Moharramaat session this past Thursday, April 11th 2013. This first session was organized for 25 families surrounding Zone 1 (Masjid atraaf area).
The entire session lasted around an hour and 30 minutes. The highlight of the session was Aqa Moula (TUS)' Bayaan Mubarak and Aali Qadar Moula (TUS)' Bayaan Mubarak regarding Moharramaat - and both Moula (TUS)' HUQUM to cleanse ourselves of all Moharramaat.
Janaab Amil Saheb addressed the attendees for approximately 10 minutes, reaching out to all families and emphasizing the importance of cleansing ourselves from all Moharramaat. Amil Saheb also spoke of providing proper care for our future generation to make sure they do not step off the path Moulana (TUS) has laid out for us.
Dr. Mufaddal bhai Morkas, Dr. Mustafa bhai Gomberawalla, and M. Qusai bhai Kalolwala were the guest speakers for this session, speaking on various subjects from medical fallbacks to family life and workplace situations. The speakers did a very good job engaging the adults as well as the children in an interactive forum, answering questions about normal misconceptions ranging from the harmful effects of non-tobacco based huqqa to clean-cut haraam substances.
A brief questionnaire was passed out towards the end of the session resulting in positive feedback as well as some Mumineen who are currently involved in Moharramaat doing niyat to stop and cleanse themselves, InshaAllah.
As an added incentive and to thank the attendees for their time, 2 adults will receive gift cards and 2 children will receive $152 scholarship each. The names will be picked from a draw by Amil Saheb.
We do Shukr on this azeem nea'mat of performing khidmat, and thank all the families who attended this first session. View pictures here.
